Keyket 2026 Product Lineup

about 21 mins to read

I will be participating in Keyboard Market Tokyo (Keyket) 2026, held on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
At the time of writing, standard entry tickets and evening entry tickets are still available.
Tickets are sold in advance with a limit, so please buy yours before they run out.

https://event.keyket.jp/tokyo-2026

On the day of the event, I will be waiting with a trial unit of the Cue2Keys 2 Starter Set DX listed below.
I think there are many things you can only understand after actually touching it, so please give it a try. You can also try reconfiguring it.

I plan to post updates on the day as needed on the product SNS account[1].

https://x.com/cue2keys

I plan to bring almost everything to Keyket, and sell any leftovers online on BOOTH.
If stock runs out, I will either open pre-orders (planned for about three months later) or manufacture more based on the number of people who click "Notify me when available."
If you are interested, please follow the BOOTH shop and wait for updates.

Items I Will Hand Out at the Venue

  • Flyer: I will hand out a flyer with the poster artwork on the front and information about the starter set on the back.

  • Key case: I will hand out the cases I actually use for the key modules. They are also convenient as trays for key switches.

  • Poster: It would not help me much to take them home, so if anyone wants one, I will hand out the poster as well. Please come to the booth at 3:40 PM, 20 minutes before closing, and let me know. If too many people want one, it will turn into the usual poster rock-paper-scissors.

About the Keyboard I Will Offer

For details, please see the feature introduction article.
For more detailed specifications, please see the documentation including the build guide.

https://www.esplo.net/posts/2026/02/cue2keys2

Cue2Keys 2 is a module-oriented keyboard that you assemble like LEGO® blocks.
You can choose the modules you like according to your use case, so you can easily add keys, knobs, or a trackball.
Because you can adjust both count and position, try out different layouts.

No soldering is required, and it works just by connecting cables. I also kept the price down through various efforts[2].
That makes it especially good for people who want to try different layouts and modules, or who want to get started with custom keyboards.
In this version, keys can now move individually and overall stability has improved. There are many changes, including the addition of magnetic key modules and a 25 mm trackball, cable organization, and an outer case.

Product Lineup (Sets)

Starter Set DX

Starter Set DX

¥26,000 (tax included, excluding keycaps)

A set packed with the modules needed for a 60-key split keyboard. You will have everything you need as long as you prepare your own keycaps.
Temporary key switches[3] are included, so feel free to swap them out based on your preference.
It is priced a little lower for the first batch and as an event-limited offer.

With the layer function, you can also easily input symbols and arrow keys, so I recommend it if you are moving from a larger keyboard.

In addition to 56 mechanical keys, it also includes one magnetic key that supports magnetic switches.
This set lets you fully experience what Cue2Keys 2 can do, including flexible layouts, a trackball and rotary encoder, and information display on the screen.

For packaging, I use a case with a handle that is also convenient for carrying around. It should be easy to take home even if your bag is already packed full at the event.

There are five color variations available as event-limited options.
Most units are "Shiba," and the others are only available in very small numbers.
Colors often look different in person, so please check them at the venue.

  • Wakaba: bright green
  • Shiba: matte green
  • Kusa: deep green
  • Kumo: matte white
  • Jumoku: a tree-like texture

Product Lineup (Individual Modules)

If there is a module you want to add to the starter set, you can buy it individually.
Individual modules do not work on their own, so please purchase them together with a starter set.

Individual modules" class="md-img" loading="lazy

Magnetic Key

1,300 yen (tax included, excluding keycaps)
(Up to 3 per person)

Magnetic key" class="md-img" loading="lazy
Magnetic key

This is a magnetic key switch module. You can add more keys or replace a regular key module with it.
For each key, you can adjust the actuation point and reset point in up to about 1,500 steps, and it also supports rapid trigger.

25 mm Trackball

25 mm trackball" class="md-img" loading="lazy
25 mm trackball

2,700 yen (tax included)
(Up to 1 per person [4])

This model uses a 25 mm ball supported by ball transfers.
It is designed to be operated with the thumb, but you can place it wherever you like.

The standard ball is made of PTFE. You can also easily swap in other 25 mm balls.
It works with many balls, but depending on the color or material, some may not respond properly. Please understand that in advance.

Up to four can be connected at the same time, and you can adjust the angle of each one in software.
You can configure angle, speed, scroll direction, mouse keys, and more from the dedicated web app.

Knob

Knob

1,100 yen (tax included)

You can turn it round and round or press it down. It is useful for creative work and scrolling.
The knob cap can be replaced[5].

(Trial Distribution) Shibafu Base

Shibafu Base" class="md-img" loading="lazy

500 yen (tax included)

I will be offering the new-version base in a Shibafu color.
I recommend it for anyone who wants to try a base color other than white.

Compared with the previous base, it makes Cue2Keys 2 modules easier to secure, and it comes in colors other than white.

However, the manufacturing method and material are different, so there are some points to be aware of.
For that reason, I am treating this as a trial distribution, offering it below the planned price and only as an add-on purchase with the starter set.
Please ask me at the booth if you have questions about the base.

Upgrade Kit for First-Generation Users

Cue2Keys 2 is partially compatible with the first-generation Cue2Keys, and by using the "upgrade connection board," you can use the first-generation key, rotary encoder, and trackball modules.
Please see the documentation for details.

Upgrade Kit" class="md-img" loading="lazy

6,500 yen (tax included)

The upgrade kit includes the following items, making it about 15% cheaper than preparing them individually.
In addition to this kit, please purchase Cue2Keys 2 modules such as magnetic keys.

  • Pendant
  • 2 hubs
  • Display
  • 2 upgrade connection boards

Please note that I will only bring a small number of these kits, and the case color will be fixed.
It may also be a good idea to wait until online sales begin.

Special Offer for First-Generation Users

As a thank-you for your continued support, I will offer a limited-time special benefit for first-generation users. The eligible product is the starter set.

At Keyket, if you show me your first-generation pendant module (PCB) at checkout, I will give you a 10% discount.
For online sales, if you send photos of the front and back of the pendant module PCB through BOOTH's message feature when purchasing, I plan to include bonus parts worth about 10%.

I plan to publish details and the latest information on SNS later.

Remarks

I plan to update the official website after the event.
I kept developing until the last minute and the specifications did not settle, so I am deep in crunch mode right now.

Summary

Based on my previous appearance, I think I can show something more evolved both as a product and as a booth.
Let's enjoy Keyket!

Please check SNS for the latest information as needed.

  1. Last year I was so overwhelmed that I could not post anything, so this time I want to post more. ↩︎

  2. The functionality and manufacturing time increased a lot, but I worked hard on part selection and procurement to lower the price. ↩︎

  3. Currently, regular keys come with Outemu Linear Red switches, and magnetic keys come with Gateron Magnetic Jade Pro switches ↩︎

  4. Only one can be connected per hub. Since the starter set has two hubs, this sale supports connecting up to two. ↩︎
