TOEIC L&R TEST 900 Point Emergency Review Part 5&6
I tried out a famous TOEIC preparation book from the Emergency series, and it was a great book.
Overall evaluation: +1 (Recommended!)
It's a book that trains your thinking skills for grammar problems, making it very effective for aiming for 900 points.
By the way, I finished reading it a while ago and recently remembered that I hadn't written a review.
Good points
The most distinctive feature of this book is its page layout.
Each page has a question, and when you turn the page, you'll find the answer and explanation in a fun quiz format.
Additionally, each question is designed to be answered within 1 minute, making it very effective for commutes or breaks using public transportation.
Furthermore, the difficulty level of the questions is well-set, and I think you can reach 900 points just by understanding the grammar.
The explanations are also very detailed, allowing you to develop the logic to arrive at the answer.
Not-so-good points
Of course, this book is not for memorizing grammar comprehensively.
Additionally, the grammar learned from this book is not directly applicable to conversations or listening, so it's best to use it specifically for TOEIC preparation.
If you're looking for English skills beyond TOEIC scores, I recommend exploring other books or videos.
For example, BBC Learning English or other videos can help you learn grammar that you didn't understand, and it's recommended to study in conjunction with other materials.
Summary
This book allows you to study in short, fragmented sessions with a quiz format, and it comes with high-quality explanations.
I think it's a very effective book for grammar preparation.
By the way, the only TOEIC preparation materials I used to get 900 points were the official question set and this book (as far as I remember).
